Jewelry - Designer

Since I started making and designing jewelry, my work always brings both my Latin roots and my Atlantic Canada experiences.  As a reflection of the different phases through the history and evolution jewelry has gone through, I like to play and mix different styles in my designs; from the fairly simple to the more complex pieces that show my particular artistic sense as an expression of my ideas and the techniques I have learned along the years.

I love to sculpt in wax some of my designs because this gives me the chance to tangibly mould my ideas and express them as art.  Mostly, I am passionate about rings because I think these are the kind of jewelry that by wearing it, give us the chance to admire it again and again, every time we look at our hands or show them to others.

Often, I try to make pieces that challenge myself and teach me additional techniques and skills in their making. I particularly love all the styles from the pre-colonial to modern trends.

In my work, I try to explore as many ideas, techniques, and styles as I can, to allow myself to express them in metal, combine lines and colours, as well as textures and designs.  I get influenced by my experiences in noticing the details in plants, animals, human-made structures, architecture, or other things I get in contact with. These experiences give me the inspiration I need to understand the beauty in everything, and to showcase such beauty as a tribute.

Jewelry is the medium I choose to let my artistic soul express itself.
